Book Character Costume Contest Winners

We had a wonderful turnout for the Book Character Costume Contest this Halloween, both with contestants and with an audience of students and parents. The costumes were amazing, and the variety of literature from which the characters were drawn was truly impressive.

The following are the winners and runners-up:

Scott Fitzgerald. 2nd Place, ($25 gift certificate to Barnes and Noble): Eduardo Gomez, dressed as Professor Abraham Van Helsing, in Dracula, a novel by Irish author Bram Stoker.
3rd Place, ($15 gift certificate) to Barnes and Noble:  Timsy Rowe, dressed as Gertrude McFuzz, girl-bird character in a Dr. Seus (Theodor Seuss Geisel) picture book collection.

There was a six-way tie for 4th place ($5 gift certificates to Barnes and Noble):
Anita Argyle was dressed as Luna Lovegood in Harry Potter.
Julia Limb was Heidi, in Heidi.
Katherine Blackburn was Maid Marian in Robin Hood.
Samantha Sink was Tinkerbell, from Peter Pan.
Corina Fuentes was Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz
Drew Ashton was dressed as a Protector from the Red Pyramid, in the Kane Chronicles.

Honorary Mention went to:
Alia Pacheco as Alice from Twilight
Brenden Menard as one of the Three Musketeers.
Jasmine Hammond as White Tiger from The Tiger’s Curse
