The Utah Youth Orchestra has provided premiere training for young orchestral musicians for over 50 years. These high school students are given the opportunity to work with musicians from the Utah Symphony, the University of Utah School of Music and other distinctive soloists, ensemble players and instructors. They perform unedited classical music – that means it hasn’t been simplified to fit their abilities. These students must audition for a place in this group and many of our Copper Hills Students have participated over the years.
Last night they performed the Lieutenant Kije Suite by Sergei Prokofiev. When the original trumpet soloist was unable to perform, Abby Acton stepped in at the last-minute and excelled! Rumor has it, she was better than the original soloist!
Congrats to students representing CHHS @ Springville Art show. CHHS had more art accepted than any school in the state.
Registration starts today 2/4 and ends at midnight on 2/7.

The ProStart Competition, where students are under pressure to make and present great tasting entrees and desserts, was at West High School on Jan 22nd. The Copper Hills Team competed against other schools within our region . The students did so well that they will now be going on to State. Good luck!
