Six Easy Steps for SLCC Admission and Concurrent Enrollment class Registration

 Step 1 –Apply for SLCC Admission.  Use the Concurrent Enrollment website:  http://www.slcc.edu/concurrentenrollment/students/.  In the Student & Parent Tab, click Admissions Steps and follow the instructions.  You will need to pay a $40.00 admissions fee.  Online payment is preferred.  You will also need to have your State Student Identification number (SSID).  This number starts with a “1” or a “2”.  Check with the registration office at your high school if you do not know your SSID.

Step 2 – Wait for a reply letter.  SLCC student number called your “S” number will arrive in the mail a few days after you complete the application.  Record your number where you won’t lose it and can access it quickly (e.g. your mobile device, etc.).

Step 3 – Take the Accuplacer test (CPT), if required.  This is required for some classes like Math and English.  Most high schools will administer the test. Check with the CTE coordinator for dates it will be offered (usually in the Spring, for Fall classes).  You may also take it at an SLCC campus Testing center, www.slcc.edu/testing.

Step 4 – Set up your “MyPage” account.  Please follow the instructions listed under Admission Steps, Step 4 on the SLCC Concurrent Enrollment website.  You will need your “S” number to do this.  When it calls for the last four digits of your Social Security Number, you may also use the last four digits of your “S” number, if you prefer.

The first four steps should be completed before you leave school for the summer.

 Step 5 – Register for CE classes online during the first two days of class.  Obtain the class CRN number from your teacher. Login to MyPage, and click Student tab.  Under Registration Tools, click Add or Drop Classes. Insert the CRN information for the class, click Register.  Check successful registration by clicking My Courses tab.  Your class will show up.

Step 6 – Pay the Partial Tuition.  The $5.00 per credit hour tuition may be paid at the time of registration or until September 13^th for the Fall 2013 year.  You can pay the partial tuition online, by phone 801-957-4868, or in person at a Cashier’s Window at SLCC.  To pay online, login to MyPage, click Student tab, in Student Portal, click Tuition Payment Options, click Make a Payment Here, select current semester, enter amount, and follow payment directions.  You can pay with a checking or savings account or with a credit card.

New Century Scholarship

Every year high school juniors and seniors are able to enroll in concurrent enrollment classes, with the possibility of earning their associate degree at high school graduation.  Last year 13 of our 2012 graduates completed the requirements toward earning their associate degree from Salt Lake Community College, and received the New Century Scholarship.  Overall, 25 students in Jordan School District received this award. This scholarship is good for any Utah higher education institution and requires a high school minimum GPA of 3.5, a college GPA of 3.0 and the 61 college credits as outlined by SLCC.  Applications for 2013 seniors are now available and are due February 1st.  To learn more about concurrent enrollment contact your high school counselor or email holly.perry@slcc.edu or michael.brammer@slcc.edu to attend an orientation meeting.  Information regarding the scholarship can be found at www.higheredutah.org.  Click on “Scholarships”.
