CHHS Places 3rd in State Science Olympiad

Copper Hills High School placed 3rd in the State Science Olympiad at the University of Utah on Saturday April 13th, only a few points behind the top two teams. There were over 70 teams at state from schools around the state. Copper Hills also placed well in the two Regionals before state. The team placed in the top ten in 20 out of 24 events, placed in the top 6 in half the events, and medaled in 5 events.

Science Olympiad is one of the two most prestigious high school science competitions in the state with science fair.  “For the past 29 years, has led a revolution in science education. What began as a grassroots assembly of science teachers is now one of the premiere science competitions in the nation, providing rigorous, standards-based challenges to 6,400 teams in 50 states. Junior Varsity team members are Victoria Beard, Paul Castellanos,  Tynan Davis, Quinn Everett, Natalie Holt, Santiago Leon, Ivy Tomala, and Kaleb Hall.
